Yoga Exercise With Meditation

Introducing Yoga

The practice of Yoga has attracted millions of people from all over the world, simply because yoga works ! The ability to relax both mind and body is increasingly important in coping with our fast-moving society and yoga has been proved to be beneficial in relieving a wide range of stress related health problems. Yoga provides the all important link between mind and body.

You can practice Yoga for all sorts of reasons: to remain fit; to stay healthy or recover your health; to balance your nervous system; to calm your busy mind, and to live in a more meaningful way. All these goals are worthy of our attention and pursuit.

Yoga is suitable for children, young adults, the middle-aged, and the elderly, and is a pursuit that should last a lifetime. It is not just for the fit as many who come to yoga when they are sick, convalescent, or disabled.Yet, traditionally, Yoga has for several millennia been employed as a pathway to liberation or enlightenment.

This site is for everyone who is considering taking up yoga, and for those who have already walked a short way along its path. Its approach is simple: the various exercises and asanas (postures) illustrated and described have been chosen from among the many possible variations because they are fundamental and useful. The purpose is not just to introduce the basics of yoga, but also to show that yoga is more than simply a set of physical exercises. In recent years it has become a generally accepted fact that the interaction between our thoughts and our physical body affects our energy and our health.

Meditating
The mind loves routine and thrives on expectation, so in a sense, just finding a quiet place at a preplanned time and sitting there for a few minutes, by quietly and calming the thoughts, counts as a meditation session. Like everything else, meditation takes time and has to begin somewhere.More

Yoga and Body Posture
An important principle of yoga is that it seeks to maintain the natural balance found in all aspects of life. The body's design incorporates a whole set of balances. Breathing, for example, maintains a balance between the body's demand for energy and the supply of oxygen to provide that energy.More
